Common, Q-Tip, Cypress Hill team for urban music showcase
Hip-hop heavyweights Common , Q-Tip and Cypress Hill will highlight this summer's MGD Flavor 2 Savor concert series, a celebration of urban sounds that continues Tuesday (7/19) in Washington, DC, with performances by Common and Lyfe.
The series kicked off June 15 in Minneapolis with a show by Gavin DeGraw and Aslyn, and will continue on to four more cities with what a press release terms "a rare showcase of chart-topping urban music headliners who have made indelible contributions to the American music landscape."
Q-Tip--formerly of the legendary A Tribe Called Quest--will take to the stage July 22 in Philadelphia. The next show in the series is set for Aug. 17 in New York, with performances by Talib Kweli, Res and Jean Grae.
Big Boi of OutKast will appear Aug. 18 in Minneapolis, with repeats of the Talib Kweli, Res and Jean Grae bill the same night in Philadelphia and the following night in Washington, DC.
Cypress Hill will close out the series with performances on three consecutive nights--Sept. 15-17--in Baltimore, New York and Philadelphia.
More information on the concert series can be found at the Flavor 2 Savor website.
