Bloc Party adds U.S. dates to tour schedule
British indie rockers Bloc Party --currently supporting their debut album "Silent Alarm"--have added several new U.S. concert dates this fall, starting Sept. 8 with an appearance in Boston.
The band has played live extensively this year, recently completing a four-month spring/summer U.S. tour with a June 18 show in Philadelphia.
After the upcoming U.S. leg, Bloc Party plans an extensive slate of European shows, details of which can be found on the group's website.
Released in February, "Silent Alarm" has already generated a good head of buzz for the band, which is known for its politically oriented lyrics and danceable post-punk musicianship. The single "Helicopter" from the debut LP made it into the Top 30 on the U.K. charts, and the band recently released "The Pioneers," its fourth single from that album.
The September leg of Bloc Party's tour will see the band visit 10 U.S. cities--as well as Toronto--before ending up Sept. 26 in Atlanta.
