Briefly: Faith Hill, R. Kelly, Bow Wow, Lil' Kim, ALO
Country/pop singer Faith Hill releases her sixth studio album, "Fireflies," on Aug. 2.
Among the set's 14 tracks are songs penned by John Rich (Big & Rich), Lori McKenna, Craig Wiseman, Brett and Brad Warren (The Warren Brothers) and Darrell Scott, among others.
The album's first single, "Mississippi Girl," is already a hit on country radio.
About 139,000 copies of R. Kelly 's "TP3.3 Reloaded" were sold over the last week, enough to give the set a return engagement atop The Billboard 200 album chart.
Kelly outsold Houston rapper Slip Thug's major label debut, "Already Platinum," by about 10,000 copies, according to Billboard.
Bow Wow's "Wanted" debuts at No. 3, while Coldplay's "X&Y" and Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" round out the Top 5.
Lil' Kim , who is due to report to prison this fall to serve a perjury sentence, has filed a $6 million lawsuit against Lil' Cease. The suit claims Lil' Cease is improperly using her name and image on his DVD "The Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II: Reloaded."
Jam band ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra), which will accompany Jack Johnson on his upcoming tour, releases its new album, "Fly Between Falls," on Aug. 1. Johnson provides back-up vocals on one of the album's tracks.
