Los Lonely Boys set dates for late summer trek
Grammy-winning pop trio Los Lonely Boys have scheduled a late summer run of concert appearances as they continue to test out new songs for their as-yet-untitled, forthcoming album.
The "Brotherhood Tour" brings the headlining Los Lonely Boys together with fellow Latino-American pop groups Ozomatli and, on the first half of the tour, Calexico.
The Texas threesome--Garza brothers Henry (guitar), Jojo (bass) and Ringo (drums)--are thriving after a busy year which found them scaling the heights of pop success with their self-titled debut album, and receiving a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Vocal Duo Group for their single "Heaven."
Los Lonely Boys ' current release, "Live at the Fillmore," documents their Oct. 23, 2004, concert at San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium.
The band recently opened for Carlos Santana on his June tour, and frequently joined the guitarist onstage during his sets.
The editors of Reader's Digest magazine recently named Los Lonely Boys one of the "Best of America" in its annual roundup of "the wacky, wonderful and truly unique," according to a press release. The band was cited under the category of "Best hip new music."
The "Brotherhood Tour" continues July 28 in San Jacinto, CA, and is currently scheduled to end up Aug. 20 in Highland Park, IL. Further Los Lonely Boys dates are set to follow in September and October.
