Country music icon Loretta Lynn [ tickets ] has set out a busy touring schedule for the remainder of 2005, continuing a resurgence that has netted her two Grammy awards and a return to the upper reaches of the country album charts.

Lynn's current tour continues Saturday (7/23) in Rochester Hills, MI, and is scheduled to end Dec. 3 in Fort Worth, TX.

The 70-year-old entertainer gained a new generation of fans last year after the release of her "Van Lear Rose" album, produced by White Stripes frontman Jack White (who also sang and performed on the album.) The album rose to No. 2 on the Billboard country charts.

A 25-track retrospective set covering songs from throughout her long career, "The Definitive Collection," was recently released on MCA Records.

Lynn was recently awarded the Johnny Cash Visionary Award at the CMT Country Music Awards. This followed her two Grammy wins in February, Best Country Album for "Van Lear Rose," and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals, for the single "Portland Oregon," a duet with White.

Lynn has postponed several dates in recent years due to recurring bouts with back pain.
