Fall Out Boy heads up Nintendo Fusion Tour

Chicago rock group Fall Out Boy , who last year occupied a support slot on the Nintendo Fusion Tour, gets top billing during this year's edition of the run.

The outing--which will also feature The Starting Line , Motion City Soundtrack , Boys Night Out and Panic! at the Disco--kicks off in late September and is expected to touch down in about 40 cities, according to organizers. At press time, 31 dates were confirmed. Details are shown below.

In addition to music, each tour stop will also feature video-game stations where concertgoers can try out new Nintendo Products, according to the company. More information is posted at the tour's website.

Fall Out Boy is backing its latest album, "From Under the Cork Tree," which hit stores in May. The gold-certified set features the cut "Sugar, We're Going Down," the music video for which hit the No. 1 spot on MTV's "Total Request Live."

"We've been fans of Nintendo since the days of Excitebike and Kid Icarus," Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz said in a statement. "We are excited to be a part of the Nintendo Fusion Tour because of the diverse offerings it gives our fans. While they check the bands out, they also get the chance to check out some new video games. Besides, we have all always been video game nerds anyway."

Pennsylvanian punk-pop outfit The Starting Line issued its sophomore set, "Based on a True Story," in May. The disc debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 album chart thanks to first-week sales of about 40,000 copies.

Minneapolis-based quintet Motion City Soundtrack is hitting the road behind its second album, "Commit This to Memory," which surfaced last month. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus produced the set.

The latest from Canada's Boys Night Out, "Trainwreck," arrived in stores on Tuesday (7/26), while Panic! at the Disco delivers its debut album, "The Fever You Can't Sweat Out," the day before the Nintendo Fusion Tour launches.
