Steve Earle's 'Revolution' roadwork continues

Folk/country maverick Steve Earle took an early summer break from his extensive tour in support of his latest album, "The Revolution Starts ... Now," but he's back on the road.

Making good on a December blog entry that said, "I will play every city in the United States of America that will have us before we shut this tour down," Earle's current schedule includes stops in locales ranging from Alaska to Los Angeles.

Country singer/songwriter Allison Moorer, who issued a new album titled "The Duel" in April and has opened the bulk of Earle's recent dates, continues to hold down the opening slot on most shows. Details are in the itinerary below.

"The Revolution Starts ... Now," a collection that continues Earle's penchant for mixing music and activism, picked up a Grammy Award in February for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

Three songs from the politically charged album--"F the CC," "Rich Man's War" and the title track--are streaming at Earle's official website.

"Revolution" continues a prolific release schedule for Earle, coming on the heels of 2002's "Jerusalem," the 2002 outtakes package "Sidetracks" and 2003's double-live CD and DVD "Just an American Boy."
