Dave Matthews Band Sets May Opening Acts, Adds New Shows

The Dave Matthews Band has announced the remaining opening act bookings for the first four weeks of their spring / summer tour. According a statement issued by the band, Cracker will open the first seven shows of the run (5/1 - 5/9), followed by Corey Harris, who will open five shows (5/11 - 5/16). The band will then move into seven stadium shows, to be opened by Santana and The Roots.

Tour dates have also been added for the Los Angeles area at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, in Houston at the Woodlands Pavilion, in Charlotte at the Blockbuster Pavilion, in Raleigh at the Alltel Pavilion and in upstate New York at the Finger Lakes PAC, according to ticketing information release on the band's official web site. Tickets for most of the new dates are set to go on sale this weekend.

Cracker is out on the road in support of their latest effort, Gentleman's Blues, released last August. Corey Harris supports his just-released Greens From The Garden.

Matthews' Mile High Stadium show featuring opening acts Alanis Morissette and Big Head Todd & the Monsters went on sale this past weekend, as did travel / show packages for this year's Woodstock gathering in Rome, NY, which will feature the Dave Matthews Band and Alanis Morissette alongside a host of 70's through 90's acts.

The full Dave Matthews Band tour now runs a full three months and has routed a full circle around the US, including returns to the Southeast and Northeast regions, where the itinerary now ends with an August 7th show in Hartford, CT.
