The Black Keys arrange late year concert run

Garage-rock duo The Black Keys have worked out a series of dates to take them through much of the remainder of the year as they continue to tour behind their latest release, "Rubber Factory."

Fresh off their Saturday (7/23) appearance at Lollapalooza, the hard-rocking Ohioans will rest a bit before tackling a string of September dates, starting with a Sept. 1 engagement in Knoxville, TN.

The critically acclaimed "Rubber Factory" was the third full-length release for the pair (guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney,) all three albums coming within a span of just over two years.

The two college dropouts worked a series of odd jobs around their hometown of Akron, OH, before forming The Black Keys in 2002 and recording their first album, "The Big Come Up," the same year. Undeterred by an almost complete lack of income, the pair set out across the United States in a beat-up hatchback, according to their official bio, playing small clubs whenever they got the opportunity. Semi-fame beckoned when Rolling Stone magazine gave the band's debut album a four-star review.

The Black Keys are scheduled to take part in the upcoming Arthurfest in Los Angeles. The primarily indie music festival will feature a number of up and coming bands, along with more-established acts Cat Power, Sleater-Kinney and Sonic Youth.

The Black Keys will make their Arthurfest appearance Sept. 4 at Barnsdall Art Park in Los Angeles. More tour information can be found at their website.
