Briefly: Elton John, John Lennon, Neil Diamond, Bad Beat Revue
Elton John will perform a free Sept. 3 concert outside the Colosseum in Rome, city officials announced Friday (7/29).
The show will take place on Via de Fori Imperiali, the same spot where Simon & Garfunkel played last year.
John Lennon 's handwritten lyrics for The Beatles ' classic "All You Need is Love" were sold in London on Thursday (7/28) for $1.75 million.
The lyrics were sold during an auction of a large batch of Lennon memorabilia at the Hippodrome nightclub.
Billboard.com reports that the release date for Neil Diamond 's upcoming Rick Rubin-produced album has been pushed back two months to Nov. 8.
Patrick Sherry, frontman for the U.K. band Bad Beat Revue, suffered fatal head and neck injuries during a stage dive at a performance last week. He was 26.
