Dar Williams pumps up fall tour schedule

Dar Williams , who recently announced plans for a handful of summer shows and subsequent fall headlining run, has penciled in a host of new shows.
Williams' schedule now includes a slew of new September, October and November dates; details are included below.
Before launching the fall run, Williams will play late-August shows in Pennsylvania and Virginia, and will also open for Richard Thompson during a three-night stand in London. Details about the London shows are posted at Williams' website.
The roadwork supports Williams' forthcoming album, "My Better Self," which is due in stores Sept. 13. The folk-singer recorded the set in Shokan, NY--near Woodstock--with producer Stewart Lerman. Guest contributors include Marshall Crenshaw, Ani DiFranco, Patty Larkin and Soulive.
"My Better Self" follows 2003's "The Beauty and the Rain," which also featured a large number of guest performers, ranging from pianist Bela Fleck to singer Alison Krauss.
Williams spent the better part of the last year promoting her first book, "Amalee," a novel written for young readers.
