Susan Tedeschi readies new album, mounts tour

Susan Tedeschi will stay plenty busy in the coming weeks with an ambitious tour schedule, in the midst of which she'll issue a new studio album.
Titled "Hope & Desire," the new set is due in stores Sept. 20, by which time Tedeschi will have finished a leg of touring that begins on the East Coast this week and works its way across the country. The itinerary includes a Sept. 16 set at the Telluride Blues & Blues Festival in Colorado, and a Sept. 18 performance at this year's Farm Aid concert in the Chicago area.
Following the new album's release, Tedeschi launches a headlining theater tour, which so far features a handful of late-October and early November stops. Details are shown below.
"Hope & Desire," which is the follow-up to 2002's "Wait for Me," marks Tedeschi's first release for Verve Forecast, part of the Verve Music Group.
Released in November of 2002, "Wait for Me" spawned the Grammy-nominated cut "Alone," which received a nod in the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance category.
Tedeschi's first Grammy nomination came in 2000, when she was up for Best New Artist for her 1998, major-label debut, "Just Won't Burn."
