Garbage plots late-summer run through North America
Shirley Manson and company are in the midst of another swing through North America as they continue to support "Bleed Like Me," the first new Garbage album in four years.
The group, which just wrapped up a brief run through Southern California and Mexico, returns to the stage Saturday (8/13) at a radio-station festival in Atlanta, and a subsequent mix of headlining stops and festival appearances stretches into mid-September. Details are shown below.
While in Chicago--where an Aug. 22 stop at the Vic Theatre is planned--Garbage is scheduled to perform at an Aug. 23 taping for an upcoming episode of PBS's "Soundstage" concert series. An airdate was not available at press time.
Released in April, "Bleed Like Me" is the follow-up to 2001's "Beautiful Garbage.
"[On 'Bleed Like Me,'] I think we really nailed the fact that we're a loud rock band more than anything else--a guitar band behind Shirley's voice," guitarist Steve Marker said in a press release.
"When people come to see us, nobody expects us to be that loud," Manson added. "It's like, 'Oh my god, a rock band!' I don't think we've ever captured that on a record, but ['Bleed Like Me'] is the closest we have gotten."
