Oasis Divulges Plans For North American Tour
British pop icons Oasis , who made a few stops on the North American radio festival circuit last year, will embark on a full-fledged tour of the continent in April, their first in more than two years. The month-long jaunt will take the band to 19 major markets.
The touring plans were divulged Tuesday (2/1) on the band's official website. Ticket onsale dates have not been announced.
Oasis has lost and replaced two longtime members since the band completed work on its forthcoming album last year. In August, guitarist Paul Arthurs and bass player Paul McGuilgan announced in quick succession that they were leaving the group. Gem, formerly of Heavy Stereo, was introduced in October as the band's new guitarist.In November, Andy Bell, formerly of Ride and Hurricane #1, was named the band's new bass player.
The fourth Oasis album, ''Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants,'' is scheduled for release on Feb. 29.
Before hitting North America, the band will embark on a tour of Japan, and will follow that with three European dates. The band's itinerary also shows a July tour of the U.K. and Ireland.
