Ozzy Osbourne [ tickets ] announced Friday (8/12) that this year will mark the last time that he headlines his long-running namesake package tour, Ozzfest [ tickets ].

"After 10 years, the Ozzfest's name and reputation has been established," Osbourne said in a statement. "It's time for me to move on and do other things."

According to a press release, Ozzfest will return in 2006, but "Ozzy will limit his performances to only a few, select cities."

Ozzfest was launched for a limited run in 1996, and has since been instrumental in launching artists like System of a Down, Linkin Park, Incubus, Slipknot, Disturbed and Godsmack into stardom.

This year, Ozzfest's main stage is occupied by Black Sabbath [ tickets ] (fronted by Osbourne), Iron Maiden, Shadows Fall and Black Label Society, with Velvet Revolver and Slipknot booked on select dates. Rob Zombie heads up the second stage.
