Contrary to a report that surfaced today (11/29) in the British tabloid The Mirror, Liam Gallagher [ tickets ] of Oasis [ tickets ] hasn't disappeared, according to the band's British label. Gallagher is scheduled to travel to the U.S. for a series of appearances at radio station festivals beginning Dec. 3.

''Despite continued reports in the media, Liam is not missing,'' said Creation Records. ''He is currently undertaking his promotional work for the week in London as planned.''

The Mirror reported that Gallagher hadn't been seen since Friday afternoon, and that his wife, Patsy, and brother Noel hadn't been able to locate him. But follow-up reports in the British press placed Gallagher at various British pubs over the weekend.

Gallagher hasn't exactly established a track record of stability, and a series of alcohol-fueled antics have made him and his band favorites of the British tabloids. For instance, in 1996, claiming that he and his wife needed to go house-hunting, Gallagher walked off of an airplane that was to fly Oasis to the U.S. for a series of shows. Though he joined the band later in the tour, Gallagher was a no-show for the band's appearance on ''MTV Unplugged.''

Oasis will kick off a world tour in February to coincide with the release of its forthcoming album, ''Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.'' The road trip will open in Japan, then will travel through South America, the U.S. and Europe. The tour will conclude in Great Britain in July with a series of stadium shows.

Elsewhere on the missing rocker front, Big Country [ tickets ] frontman Stuart Adamson [ tickets ], who failed to make scheduled appearances last week at a Bryan Adams concert in Scotland and on a British television program, was located alive and well in New Orleans over the holiday. The reason for his disappearance wasn't immediately known, and he was expected to be in Great Britain to perform a series of Big Country reunion concerts in December.
