The New Pornographers prepare for new album, tour
Canada's The New Pornographers are preparing to hit the road in support of their new album, "Twin Cinema."
The Vancouver-based indie-pop ensemble will get things started Aug. 28 in Santa Ana, CA. The outing is scheduled to run into late October and will take the band to more than 25 cities.
"Twin Cinema" is the third full-length release from the band, which formed in 1997 primarily as a casual vehicle for singer/songwriter A.C. Newman. The loosely configured New Pornographers recorded their debut album, "Mass Romantic," in 2000 and followed that with 2003's "Electric Version."
MP3s of two tracks from the band's new album, "Use It," and "Twin Cinema" are available to download from The New Pornographer's website. "Twin Cinema" is due in stores Aug. 23.
