Dashboard Confessional exits studio for college trek
Florida emo quartet Dashboard Confessional is taking a break from recording a new album to play a series of headlining shows.
The tour kicks off Aug. 27 at East Lansing, MI's Michigan State University, and shows--most of which are booked at colleges and universities--are scattered through mid-October.
The trek also includes a Sept. 5 stop at the 35th annual Bumbershoot festival, which features four days of performances by more than 2,500 artists on 20 stages and venues, according to the event's website.
Dashboard Confessional--lead singer/songwriter Chris Carrabba, bassist Scott Shoenbeck, guitarist John Lefler and drummer Mike Marsh--broke through to the mainstream with the 2003 album "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar." The group is working with producer Daniel Lanois for its forthcoming collection, its website read.
