Briefly: Justin Timberlake, Vegoose, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley

The British tabloid News of the World has agreed to pay "substantial undisclosed damages" and to issue a public apology in its newspaper after admitting to printing a fabricated story about Justin Timberlake , Timberlake's publicist said.

The newspaper published a story in July 2004 that accused Timberlake of having an affair with a woman named Lucy Clarkson. Clarkson, who sold the fabricated story to the newspaper, has agreed to return all money she received in connection with it, and Timberlake will donate his monetary damages to charity, according to a press release.

"Yet again, a tabloid has been caught lying," Timberlake spokesman Ken Sunshine said in a statement. "Thankfully the judicial process worked, but how many cases like this will it take before these tabloids feel obligated to print the truth? Have they no shame?"
