John Hiatt sets more U.S. dates
American music veteran John Hiatt , who has spent the better part of the past 30 years touring, doesn't look like he'll be slowing down any time soon.
Hiatt plays a handful of U.S. dates in September, then heads to Europe for an October run. The celebrated singer/songwriter picks up another leg of his U.S. tour starting Nov. 3 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL. Currently, there are coast-to-coast dates, including one stop in Toronto. Lyle Lovett will join Hiatt on the November leg, which so far stretches into mid-November.
Hiatt's itinerary (shown below)includes a Nov. 8 show at New Orleans' Orpheum Theatre. There is no official word yet, but it is likely to be cancelled.
Hiatt has come a long way from the 18-year-old who, in 1970, traveled to Nashville to make a name for himself. Today, several noteworthy, diverse artists ranging from Bob Dylan to Buddy Guy have covered his songs.
His extensive discography reveals a proficient songwriter and performer who has released a full-length CD nearly once a year since 1973. His current tour comes on the heels of "Master of Disaster," released this year on New West Records.
