Yellowcard precedes new album with fall tour

Yellowcard won't deliver its follow-up to 2003's "Ocean Avenue" until early next year, but fans will get an early listen to some of the new material during the group's fall roadtrip.

Following an in-progress trek through Canada that wraps up in late September, the group will launch a U.S. tour Oct. 24 in Austin, TX. Dates so far stretch into early December.

The group's plans also include a late September performance at Spokane, WA's Gonzaga University and an early October set at the Moto Music Mayhem festival in Lake Elsinore, CA. Details are included below.

In addition to launching the U.S. leg of its tour on Oct. 24, Yellowcard has also nailed down that date for the commercial release of a new single titled "Lights and Sounds," which will be available via online digital-music retailers, according to a press release. A live version of the song will be available for download from the band's website that same day.

"Lights and Sounds"--which is currently streaming at the group's site and will hit radio stations on Nov. 15--is also featured in the Electronic Arts video game "Burnout Revenge," which lands in stores Tuesday (9/13).

Yellowcard's as-yet-untitled new album is scheduled for release on Jan. 24, according to Capitol Records. Its predecessor, "Ocean Avenue," surfaced in July of 2003, and has sold almost 2.5 million copies worldwide, according to the label.

In addition to vocalist/guitarist Ryan Key, guitarist Ben Harper, drummer Longineu Parsons and bassist Pete Mosely, Yellowcard's lineup also includes classically trained violinist Sean Mackin.
