Canadian pop band Simple Plan has scheduled a fall U.S. trek--so far scheduled to visit 14 cities--in support of its forthcoming live collection, "MTV Hard Rock Live."

The October/November jaunt visits theaters and colleges, and includes a two-night stand at New York's new Nokia Theatre at Times Square.

On Oct. 4, Simple Plan will releases two editions of "MTV Hard Rock Live": a standard version with a 12-page color booklet, and a "fan pack" that includes a 32-page color tour book, as well as an exclusive Simple Plan patch and pin. Both versions feature live renditions of "Shut Up!" "Untitled," "I'm Just a Kid," plus acoustic and plugged-in performances of "Crazy," the latest single from 2004's "Still Not Getting Any."

Simple Plan--vocalist Pierre Bouvier, drummer Chuck Comeau, bassist David Desrosiers, guitarist Sebastien Lefebvre and lead guitarist Jeff Stinco--recently re-teamed with director Mark Klasfeld to shoot a video for "Crazy," according to the group's website. Klasfeld's previous offering, the video for "Untitled," was nominated for two MTV Music Video Awards this year: Best Cinematography and Best Editing.

Last week, the band bowed out of MTV's Hurricane Katrina Relief show after Bouvier was struck and injured by a water bottle thrown during a performance in Stratford, Ontario.

Straylight Run [ tickets ], which is prepping to release the six-song EP "Prepare to be Wrong" on Oct. 4, will serve as the opening act.
