Pearl Jam sets benefit show for hurricane victims

Pearl Jam will follow its current swing of North American shows with a rare club date, which will benefit the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

The Seattle rockers have announced an Oct. 5 gig at the Chicago House of Blues, with all proceeds earmarked for Habitat for Humanity, The American Red Cross and the Jazz Foundation of America (a New York City-based non-profit that will work with the New Orleans Musician's Clinic to coordinate assistance for musicians impacted by the hurricane).

Because the show is a benefit, the band is not conducting a fan-club ticket pre-sale. Tickets for the general-admission performance are priced at $1,000, and are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)

Pearl Jam is currently in the midst of a tour that focuses on Canada, but also includes a handful of U.S. shows, including a Sept. 28 slot as the opening act for The Rolling Stones in Pittsburgh.
