Dandy Warhols bring life to 'Mars'

The Dandy Warhols are set to storm through the U.S. in support of their fifth CD, "Odditorium or Warlords of Mars."

The tour kicks off Nov. 14 in Seattle and ends in the band's hometown of Portland, OR, with a two-night stand (12/13 and 14) at the Wonder Ballroom. This coast-to-coast trek will also include three stops in California and two trips into Canada.

The Dandy Warhols—-vocalist/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor, guitarist Peter Holmstrom, keyboardist-bassist Zia McCabe and drummer Brent DeBoer—-are also scheduled to perform "Smoke It" Oct. 1 on Fox's "Mad TV."

"Smoke It" is the first single from the newly released "Odditorium or Warlord of Mars," a work that marks a departure from the synthesized pop of 2003's "Welcome to the Monkey House" and a return to the druggy, psychedelic rock of 1997's "Dandy Warhols Come Down."

The album is named, in part, after the band's infamous Portland studio headquarters, Odditorium.
