Green Day , currently nearing the end of a lengthy North American tour, has announced plans to play club gigs this month in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The group is set for an Oct. 11 gig at the Wiltern LG in Los Angeles, a show that will also be streamed on the AOL Music site. The San Francisco show is scheduled to take place Oct. 13 at The Warfield.

Meanwhile, The Network, a masked band that many suspect is Green Day in disguise, will be the opening act for both of the newly announced gigs, according to Green Day's website.

Rapper/producer Dr. Dre has donated $1 million to Houston's Julia C. Hester House, an organization that assists homeless people. Fifty families affected by Hurricane Katrina will split the money.

"I wanted to be sure that my donation did two things: went directly into the hands of hurricane victims and that it was an amount that could really impact their lives and make a difference," Dre said in a statement.
