Briefly: Harry Connick Jr., Green Day, Phish

Harry Connick Jr. appeared before the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday (10/6) to lobby for adequate funding to rebuild the portion of the Gulf Coast that was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Connick is the honorary chairman of Habitat for Humanity's Operation Home Delivery, its program to replace housing lost in the storm and floods.

"I come to you with hope," Connick said. "I have no doubt that the government of this great nation will work with its people to lead New Orleans and the Gulf Coast back to an enlightened, proud, safe part of the world. I implore you to make it right, to make us proud."
