Carly Simon to mount first tour in a decade

Veteran singer Carly Simon ends a lengthy touring hiatus with a round of late-fall shows that will also feature her children, Ben and Sally Taylor .

The family's run kicks off Nov. 19 in Boston, and is scheduled to touch down in eight cities throughout the Northeast and Midwest, including New York; Atlantic City, NJ; Washington, DC; and Chicago. Details are shown below.

Simon, who hasn't mounted a tour since 1995, is hitting the road to back her recently released album, "Moonlight Serenade." The collection of standards hit stores in July and debuted at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

The set list for the tour will feature a mix of cuts from "Moonlight Serenade" and previously released hits from Simon's catalog, which dates back to 1971. She issued her self-titled debut that year.

On Nov. 22, Columbia Records will issue "A Moonlight Serenade on the Queen Mary 2 Concert," a DVD that captures Simon's September performance on board the ship. The concert will also air on PBS during the network's December pledge drive.

Ben and Sally Taylor--Simon's children from her marriage with fellow singer/songwriter James Taylor--will each perform individual opening sets, and will also be performing "special song selections with their mother during the concert," according to a press release.

Ben Taylor is supporting his latest album, "Another Run Around the Sun," which surfaced in early September, and features sister Sally on background vocals.

Sally Taylor, meanwhile, is pulling together material for her fourth album.

"Mom and Ben and I are going out on the road together at the end of November and I think I almost have enough new songs for an album," she wrote in a message posted at her website.
