Motley Crue's Tommy Lee burned during show

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee was burned by a pyrotechnics display during the band's Wednesday (10/12) performance in Casper, WY.

The group was near the end of its regular set when a pyrotechnic explosion burned Lee, who was suspended 30 feet above the stage at the time of the incident, according to his publicist.

Lee suffered minor burns on his arms and face, and was treated as an outpatient at a local hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

A witness told the Casper Star-Tribune paper that the "lights went out and Roman candles went off, and someone said, 'S---, s---.'"

After the incident, Lee played one more song before heading to the hospital, according to reports.

Band frontman Vince Neil subsequently told the audience that the group would not be able to perform an encore.

"He didn't look good while the paramedics were treating him backstage, so we chose to err on the side of caution and send him to the hospital," Neil said in a statement released Thursday (10/13).

Despite Lee's injuries, the group will not cancel any of the shows remaining on its itinerary, which comprises three more headlining dates in the Midwest, and two opening performances with The Rolling Stones. Details are shown below.

Wednesday's incident marks the second time during the current tour that a band member has been injured on stage. As previously reported, Neil tore a calf muscle during the band's Sept. 16 show in Atlanta.
