Journey piles on more 30th anniversary tour dates
Classic rockers Journey return to the road next month for more roadwork marking the group's 30th anniversary and supporting its recently released album, "Generations."
The band's itinerary now stretches into mid-December, and tickets for a number of stops--including shows in London, Ontario; Battle Creek, MI; Champaign, IL; Wichita, KS; and Indio, CA--will hit the box office over the next couple of weekends. Details are included in the itinerary below.
"Generations," Journey 's 13th studio album, hit stores earlier this month. Produced by Kevin Elson--who also produced Journey's multi-platinum "Escape," "Departure" and "Frontiers" albums, as well the double-platinum live set "Captured"--the new set is the band's first collection of all-new material since its 2002, four-song EP, "Red 13."
During a recent interview with liveDaily, singer Steve Augieri--who replaced Steve Perry in the late '90s--discussed his experience working with Elson.
"The thing about Kevin, at this point, [is that] he knows me really well," Augieri said. "He knows when he can get the best out of me, and he can tell if I'm a little tired. He's heard my best and my worst, which is great, because sometimes a producer who's not as knowledgeable might settle for something that's mediocre, and Kevin will turn around and say, 'We can definitely do that better. I know you've got it in you.' He'll get the best performances out of you."
In addition to Augieri, Journey's current lineup features original members Neal Schon (guitar) and Ross Valory (bass), and longtime members Deen Castronovo (drums) and Jon Cain (keyboards).
