Dierks Bentley keeps drifting along

Country singer Dierks Bentley [ tickets ] continues to ride the success of his sophomore release, "Modern Day Drifter," with a tour that now stretches into mid-December.

The cowboy will next perform Saturday (10/29) in Portland, OR, and then will proceed to pony throughout the U.S. over the next seven weeks. The tour is currently set to conclude Dec. 10 in Las Vegas.

"Modern Day Drifter," the follow-up to Bentley's platinum-selling, self-titled debut, is another commercial smash for the country artist. Bentley's sophomore release debuted at No. 1 on the country albums chart upon its release in May. By moving nearly 75,000 in its first week in stores, "Modern Day Drifter" also managed to chime in at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

In other news, Bentley was recently nominated for seven Country Weekly Readers' Choice Awards. The nominations included the following categories: Favorite Make Out Song, Favorite Bad Boy Dream Date, Favorite Live Act and Favorite Album. The results will be posted in the weekly's Jan. 2 issue, which goes on sale Dec. 15.
