Briefly: Bayside, Elton John, Dolly Parton, The Game
Bayside drummer John Holohan, also known as John Beatz, died in a traffic accident Monday morning (10/31) when the band's van flipped after hitting a patch of ice outside Cheyenne, WY, according to Victory Records.
The band had been traveling to Salt Lake City, UT, to perform on the Never Sleep Again Tour, which also features labelmates Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein and Aiden. Information regarding the condition of Bayside's other members wasn't immediately available.
The tour's planned Monday stop in Salt Lake City has been canceled, and an announcement regarding the remainder of the tour is pending.
Elton John and Dolly Parton will perform a rendition of the John song "Turn the Lights Out When You Leave" during the CMA Awards, which take place Nov. 15 at New York's Madison Square Garden. The track appears on John's 2005 album, "Peachtree Road."
The ceremony will be telecast live by CBS-TV.
Rapper The Game , real name Jayceon Taylor, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest Friday (10/28) at a mall in Greensboro, NC.
According to the Greensboro News-Record, police claimed that "the arrest stemmed from a confrontation that began when Taylor was asked to remove a Halloween mask he was wearing. According to the warrant, Taylor walked away from a police officer while being placed under arrest and said, 'You ain't gonna take me in,'" and "used obscenities."
The Game told a local television station that the incident was a misunderstanding, and that he "got arrested for signing autographs."
