Dinosaur Jr. lines up more club shows, readies for filming
Reunited alt-rock trio Dinosaur Jr. , who last month announced plans to record upcoming shows in New York City, have plugged more dates into their schedule.
New to the itinerary are a Nov. 28 show in Ann Arbor, MI; a Dec. 1 show in Pittsburgh; and a Dec. 4 show in the Boston area. Tickets for all three dates are on sale now, according to Dinosaur Jr.'s website.
The new stops surround previously announced two-night stands in Chicago on Nov. 29-30 and in New York City on Dec. 2-3. Details are shown below.
The New York shows, which will take place at Irving Plaza, will be filmed for use in an upcoming DVD. The disc will also feature backstage and behind-the-scenes clips, as well as one-on-one interviews with frontman J. Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph, according to a press release. No release date has been announced.
Dinosaur Jr. announced in February that it was reuniting for a television performance and appearances at festivals in the U.K. and Japan. A North American tour followed. The group's original lineup of Mascis, Barlow and Murph split in 1989, though Mascis continued to record under the Dinosaur Jr. name for several more years.
Merge Records reissued the first three Dinosaur Jr. albums--"Dinosaur," "You're Living All Over Me" and "Bug"--in March.
