Briefly: Britney Spears, 'NOW! Vol. 20,' Warren Haynes, Tha Alkaholiks

A judge has dismissed a copyright infringement suit filed by an Indiana songwriter against Britney Spears , her record label and her publishing companies.

Songwriter Steve Wallace alleged that he wrote "Sometimes"--a song that appears on her 1999 debut album, "... Baby One More Time"--15 years ago. Spears' attorney told the Associated Press that the judge threw out the case after Spears was able to prove it wasn't copied.

Tha Alkaholiks are scheduled to release "Firewater," which is being billed as their "fifth and final album," in early 2006. The set will precede a farewell tour, the details of which haven't been announced.

"Knowing 'Firewater' was going to be our last album made us very, very focused," the group's E-Swift said in a press release. "We knew there was never going to be a second chance and we owed it to our fans to put everything we could into it, right here, right now."

Said group member Tash: "We were party animals for over a decade. Times are changing. We'll still get together once in a while to do a song here and a song there ... but this is going to be it as far as albums go."
