Ray LaMontagne set for winter tour, live EP

Singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne will kick off a short winter tour in late November in advance of a live EP documenting a concert he played earlier this year.

LaMontagne launches the outing with a Nov. 30 show in Portsmouth, NH. The short itinerary will find him playing mostly medium-size theaters, including a two-night engagement beginning Dec. 2 at Boston's Berklee College of Music.

"Live from Bonnaroo 2005" was recorded during LaMontagne's performance at Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music Festival in June. The 35-minute EP, due in stores Dec. 6, features songs from LaMontagne's debut album as well as the previously unreleased track "Empty." LaMontagne's debut, "Trouble," was released in 2004.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair Magazine, singer Sheryl Crow included "Trouble" as one of her top 25 road trip albums. "He has an interesting and original singing style that is very intimate and sexy," Crow said in the interview. "I really like this guy and can't wait to see what he does next."

LaMontagne was named Male Singer/Songwriter of the Year at September's Boston Music Awards. The New Hampshire-born singer also took home Album of the Year and Song of the Year honors for "Trouble" and the album's title song.
