Bayside to resume touring after fatal accident
Less than three weeks after a traffic accident claimed the life of their drummer and seriously injured their bass player, indie rockers Bayside have announced they will hit the road again--as an acoustic duo.
Drummer John "Beatz" Halloran was killed and bassist Nick Ghanbarian seriously injured early Halloween morning when a van the Long Island, NY-based band was traveling in hit a patch of ice and flipped outside of Cheyenne, WY.
Singer/guitarist Anthony Raneri and guitarist Jack O'Shea were also riding in the van, but escaped with mild injuries and were quickly discharged from a nearby hospital.
Raneri and O'Shea have announced that they will continue the band's engagement on the current Victory Records Never Sleep Again tour, for the time being, as an acoustic duo.
"The outpouring of support from the public has been incredible," said Raneri in a press release. "We really appreciate the donations and massive amount of mail from fans sharing their sorrow over the loss of John. It's amazing to know how many lives he touched."
The Never Sleep Again tour, showcasing Victory Records acts, is being headlined by Hawthorne Heights and also includes Silverstein and Aiden .
Bayside's second, self-titled album was released in August.
