Puffy Sued Over Nightclub Shooting, Visits Grand Jury

One of the three people wounded by gunfire at a New York nightclub last week has filed a $100 million lawsuit against Sean "Puffy" Combs, alleging that the rapper and record company mogul assaulted him. Meanwhile, Combs testified before a grand jury today (1/4), reportedly saying that he knew nothing about the loaded gun found in the vehicle in which he was traveling after the incident.

According to the Associated Press, Brooklyn resident Julius Jones, 27, a bouncer at Club NY, was hospitalized briefly for a shoulder wound after the Dec. 26 shooting. He is seeking the damages from Combs and his company, Bad Boy Entertainment, as well as from the club and its owner.

Combs' attorney, Harvey Slovis, called the suit ''frivolous and without merit,'' according to the AP, and Combs has repeatedly denied involvement in the shooting.

Combs was briefly jailed on a weapons charge last week after a loaded gun was found in a vehicle that carried him, his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, and two others from the club after the shooting.

According to the AP, Combs again proclaimed his innocence today as he exited a Manhattan courthouse after testifying before a grand jury. ''I came here to tell the truth,'' he said. ''I am 100 percent innocent and the charges against me are 100 percent false. I hope they will be able to see that.''

Lopez testified before the grand jury last week and claimed that Combs was not carrying a gun during the early morning incident, the New York Daily News reported.

Rapper Jamal Barrow, who records for Bad Boy under the moniker ''Shyne'' has been charged with three counts of attempted murder in the case.
