Camper Van Beethoven, Cracker plot shows together, apart
Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven are set to hook up again with a brief run of late-December co-headlining appearances before the Campers embark on a headlining run of their own.
Frontman David Lowery, the common member between the two bands, will pull double duty starting Dec. 28 in Tacoma, WA, when both of his bands take the stage. The Cracker/Camper one-two punch will continue over the following few days in the Pacific Northwest, culminating in a New Year's Eve concert in Portland, OR.
Lowery will continue a run of Cracker acoustic shows--as a duo with Johnny Hickman from that band--Tuesday in Columbus, OH.
After the New Year's Eve double Camper Van Beethoven will head out on the road, flying solo this time, starting with a Jan. 13 show in Cambridge, MA.
The complete itinerary for both tours is listed below.
Cracker's most recent studio album, "Countrysides," was released in 2003. Camper Van Beethoven's "New Roman Times," which hit stores in late 2004, was the band's first album of all-new material since 1989's "Key Lime Pie."
Camper Van Beethoven officially disbanded in 1990, but reunited in 2002 for a national tour, followed by the band getting back into the studio. Cracker, Lowery's other project, continued as well.
