Black Rebel Motorcycle Club set to ride new tour dates
Fresh off the success of their recent album "Howl," a comeback of sorts for the veteran band, indie-rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have announced dates for a North American tour in February and March.
The band will warm up for their next tour leg with two shows on the same night, Dec. 15. in Los Angeles. The upcoming outing gets underway for keeps with a Feb. 5 appearance in Denver.
B.R.M.C. will hit more than 30 cities on the tour, which currently runs through a March 20. Details on ticket sales and opening acts should be unveiled soon.
B.R.M.C. began work on their latest album in June 2004, but took a break from recording to play a busy schedule of live shows last summer. The band (singer/guitarist Peter Hayes, singer/guitarist Robert Levon Been and drummer Nick Jago) resumed work on "Howl" in November 2004, after Jago--exhausted by the relentless touring schedule--had left the band, leaving the trio to carry on as a duo.
Adding to their uncertainty, the band was unsigned to a record label (they now record for RCA Records) while they recorded "Howl," and paid for the recording sessions out of their own pockets.
After the bulk of the album had been recorded, Jago returned to the fold, and the trio resumed touring together, culminating in an extensive world tour over the past several months.
