Randy Travis Readies Summer Road Plans
Randy Travis will spend the majority of his weekends on the road this summer in support of his 1999 release "A Man Ain't Made of Stone" (Dreamworks Nashville). The country music star's tour itinerary includes a mix of venues that range from multi-act festivals to small halls.
According to Travis' official website, Travis will be touring heavily between late June and early September, beginning his trek in Michigan. Additional dates will likely be added as the summer approaches.
Travis co-produced "A Man Ain't Made of Stone" with James Stroud and Byron Gallimore, the same combination that logged four top-10 country singles from Travis' 1998 album "You and You Alone." Though Travis traditionally records in Nashville, "A Man Ain't Made Of Stone" was cut at a studio in Santa Fe, N.M.
Travis' acting career--which he has claimed has become an effective way to publicize his music--continues to flourish. His recent screen projects included co-starring roles in the Miramax film "Texas Rangers," set to hit theaters in August, and "John John and the Sky," an independent film that has yet to be scheduled for release. He also narrated the documentary "Major Reno," which also has not been released.
