Trace Adkins to kick off 'Honky Tonk' tour
Country star Trace Adkins has mapped out a rolling start to 2006, with an extensive tour schedule that will take the singer to major cities across the U.S.
Adkins' "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" tour will kick off Jan. 19 Burlington, IA. The singer has lined up fellow country artists Josh Gracin and Craig Morgan as support for the tour, with Gracin handling the early stops and Morgan taking over later on.
"Country music fans are the best everywhere and they've always made me feel like I'm at home, no matter what zip code I'm in," said Adkins in a press release. "I just want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for blessing me with such an incredible career that I truly enjoy."
Adkins, whose latest album, "Songs About Me," was released in March, survived a health scare in September when he underwent successful emergency surgery for an abdominal inflammatory infection. Adkins had been admitted to hospital following a Sept. 16 show in Morton, MN, after the singer complained of stomach pains.
"Songs About Me," which is still hovering in the higher reaches of the country sales charts almost nine months after its release, sold almost 63,000 copies during its first week in stores back in March, enough to earn it a No. 1 debut on Billboard's Country Albums chart.
