Canadian rockers Nickelback [ tickets ] will back their chart-topping fifth album with a North American tour, the first leg of which kicks off next month.

The quartet opens on its home turf in mid-January with a nine-date trek through the Great White North, and then crosses the border for a stretch shows in the Midwest. A trio of mid-February dates caps the leg.

Live [ tickets ] will hold down the opening slot during the Canadian shows, and Trapt [ tickets ] will take over for the U.S. dates.

A round of March shows will be announced in the New Year, according to Roadrunner Records.

Nickelback [ tickets ]'s latest album, "All the Right Reasons," landed hit stores in October, and sold about 317,000 copies during its first week out, enough to grab a No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.

"All the Right Reasons" features the hit single "Photograph," which is a "glimpse back at vocalist Chad Kroeger's early teenage years," according to a press release.

"I just wanted to take a trip down memory lane, and I wanted to see if I had enough ideas that would make other people take that trip, too," Kroeger said in a statement.

The second single from "All the Right Reasons," titled "Animals," recently hit the airwaves.
