Wal-Mart reports that more than 1 million copies of the new six-disc box set " Garth Brooks : The Limited Series”--6 million discs in all--have been sold at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores since the collection's Nov. 23 release.
The set, available exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club, consists mostly of previously issued material, but it also includes a disc of 11 previously unreleased recordings.
The hits compilation "NOW! That's What I Call Music Vol. 20," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 five weeks ago, returns to the top of the U.S. album chart this week, edging out R&B singer Chris Brown's self-titled set.
Carrie Underwood 's "Some Hearts" jumps from No. 7 to No. 3, while Kenny Chesney 's "The Road and the Radio" falls two slots to No. 4. Shakira's "Oral Fixation Vol. 2" makes its debut at No. 5.
Guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his actress wife Valerie Bertinelli reportedly are divorcing after 24 years of marriage--and four years of separation.
According to the Associated Press, the divorce petition, which cites irreconcilable differences, was filed by Bertinelli Tuesday (12/6) in Los Angeles.
Hawaiian singer Don Ho , 75, reportedly is recovering at a hospital in Thailand, where he has undergone an experimental stem-cell treatment on his heart.
According to the Associated Press, stem cells were taken from Ho's blood, multiplied, and injected into his heart. Doctors hope that the experimental procedure, which is not yet approved in the United States, will strengthen Ho's weak heart.
The crooner reportedly had excellent vital signs following Tuesday's (12/6) procedure, but remains very ill. He had a pacemaker implanted earlier this year.
