Trace Adkins stacks up more 2006 tour dates

Country singer Trace Adkins [ tickets ], who earlier this month announced the initial dates for his 2006 "Honk Tonk Badonkadonk Tour," has added a slew of new stops to the run.

New to Adkins's schedule--which gets underway Jan. 19 in Burlington, IA--are about 30 shows that stretch his itinerary all the way into late July. Details are shown below.

Adkins's roadwork backs his March release, "Songs About Me," which sold almost 63,000 copies during its first week in stores. That total was enough to earn it a No. 1 debut on Billboard's Country Albums chart.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently certified "Songs About Me" platinum, signifying U.S. shipment of 1 million copies. The platinum award is Adkins's second of the year; his previous set, "Comin' On Strong," received the same honor in January.
