Briefly: Eminem, Carrie Underwood, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Elton John
Eminem 's new best-of set, "Curtain Call," logs its second straight week atop The Billboard 200 album chart, selling nearly 324,000 copies in U.S. stores.
The rapper fended off competition from "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood , whose debut set "Some Hearts" is up three notches to No. 2. Meanwhile, "The Real Thing," the debut set from "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice, makes its chart entry at No. 4.
The hits compilation "NOW! That's What I Call Music, Vol. 20," is up one spot to No. 3, and Kenny Chesney's "The Road and the Radio" rounds out the Top 5.
The fifth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is scheduled to take place June 16-18. The event site will again be a 700-acre farm in Manchester, TN, 60 miles southeast of Nashville.
Organizers--who haven't announced next year's lineup--plan to reduce the event's capacity by 10,000, capping ticket sales at 80,000, according to a press release.
The Coachella festival will again return to the Southern California desert next spring.
Organizers have announced that next year's event is set for April 29-30 at Indio, CA's Empire Polo Field. The festival's talent lineup hasn't been announced.
Meanwhile, the documentary film "Coachella" is scheduled for release in select theaters on Jan. 24.
Elton John and Canadian filmmaker David Furnish were married in the U.K. during a Wednesday (12/21) ceremony. Same-sex civil unions are newly legal in Great Britain.
