Allman Brothers prep for annual New York residency

The Allman Brothers Band has unveiled plans for this year's "March Madness" residency at New York City's Beacon Theater, an annual tradition that the classic rockers began in 1989.

This year's run of shows is set for March 9-25, and includes 13 shows. Specific dates are in the itinerary below; all tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday (1/6) at 10 a.m. ET.

According to the group's publicist, the Allmans have sold out more than 160 shows in New York City since the Beacon residencies began.

The Allmans' lineup for the upcoming gig will include Gregg Allman (vocals, Keyboards), Butch Trucks (drums, tympani), Jaimoe (drums), Warren Haynes, (vocals, lead and slide guitar), Derek Trucks (slide and lead guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass) and Marc Quinones (congas, percussion).

Longtime guitarist Dickey Betts parted ways with the group in 2000, citing "creative differences."

The Allman Brothers Band released its self-titled debut album in 1969; 2003's "Hittin' the Note" marked the group's first new studio album in nine years.

Despite sporadic recorded output in recent years, the band has been a fixture on the summer amphitheater circuit.
