Alt-pop quartet OK Go [ tickets ], who last month announced plans to support Motion City Soundtrack [ tickets ] during the latter group's winter tour, will precede that outing with a headlining run of its own.

The trek gets underway later this month with a half-dozen shows in the Northeast, then heads across the border for nearly a dozen Canadian shows.

From there, the group travels to the Midwest and links up with Motion City Soundtrack for an opening stint that kicks off Feb. 16 in Milwaukee, and runs until a March 12 stop in Orlando, FL. Details are included below.

In addition to its tour plans, OK Go is also scheduled to perform on the March 1 episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

The group recently graced television screens during its New Year's Eve performance atop the Olive Garden restaurant in New York City's Times Square, which was broadcast on two jumbotron screens, and a portion of which was aired as part of ESPN's New Year's Eve coverage. The cable sports network also used one of the group's songs--"Invicible," from last year's "Oh No"--as a music bed for its "Best of 2005" review, which featured 2005 sports highlights intercut with live footage of OK Go.

Released last August, "Oh No" entered Billboard's Heatseekers chart at No. 1, as did OK Go's 2002 self-titled debut. The group recorded the newer set in Malmo, Sweden, with Franz Ferdinand producer Tore Johansson.
