Casino dates dominate Michael Buble's winter itinerary
Jazz/pop singer Michael Buble , whose delivery has drawn comparisons to such legendary vocalists as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, has scheduled early-2006 appearances at a handful of North American casinos, among other gigs.
The Canadian crooner is currently scheduled to play a pair of dates at a Niagara Falls casino, three gigs at the Las Vegas Hilton (his first-ever shows in that city) and a single show at Connecticut's expansive Mohegan Sun casino. Theater gigs in Atlanta and Richmond, VA, round out his current schedule.
Buble's latest release is last November's "Caught in the Act," a CD/DVD collection that features his renditions of classics including "Feeling Good," "Try a Little Tenderness," "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine," "Fever" and "Sway."
The set followed his breakout LP, 2005's "It's Time," produced by David Foster. The disc was the year's top-selling album in Canada by a Canadian artist, and the third-best-selling album overall in that country. In less than a year, the album has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide, according to his official website.
Buble--pronounced Boo-blay--debuted in 2003 with a self-titled album that has since sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, according to Reprise Records.
In 2004, Buble picked up the Best New Artist award at that year's Juno Awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
