Dar Williams spreads out U.S. tour dates
Currently in the midst of a European tour, folk artist Dar Williams returns to the states in February to tackle a loose-knit tour schedule that is spread across the next few months.
Williams' 2006 U.S. roadtrip is scheduled to launch Feb. 24 in Montclair, NJ, and she has so far booked a dozen dates that are scattered as far off as late September. Details are included below.
Williams is backing her latest album, last September's "My Better Self," which she recorded in Shokan, NY--near Woodstock--with producer Stewart Lerman. Guest contributors include Marshall Crenshaw, Patty Larkin and Soulive.
Also appearing on the disc is fellow folk artist Ani Difranco, who turns up on a cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." The song is due to hit radio stations on Jan. 23, according to Williams' website, which is also streaming the track.
Apple's iTunes Music Store ranked "My Better Self" among its Best Folk Albums of 2005.
