Briefly: My Chemical Romance, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Joel, Guns N' Roses
My Chemical Romance has set a March 21 release date for "Life on the Murder Scene," a three-disc CD/DVD retrospective.
The set will feature a CD containing live tracks and demos, and two DVDs--one featuring live footage, and one containing a tour diary, music videos and more.
Billboard reports that The Red Hot Chili Peppers will issue a 25-track, two-disc album titled "Stadium Arcadium" on May 9. Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash) produced the set.
Billy Joel will be the keynote speaker for Syracuse University's May 14 commencement ceremony, the school announced this week. He's scheduled to return to Syracuse, NY, on March 25 to perform at the Carrier Dome.
Axl Rose told Rolling Stone magazine that Guns N' Roses are working on 32 new songs for their long overdue "Chinese Democracy" album (which has been in the works for a decade), 26 of which are "nearly done." Thirteen of those tracks will be selected for inclusion on the final album, he said.
"People will hear music this year," he reportedly said.
