Switchfoot ready to step out on tour
San Diego-based rockers Switchfoot have begun rolling out dates for a late-winter run on the US club and theater circuit as they continue to back last year's "Nothing is Sound."
So far, the quintet has lined up a brief itinerary that kicks off in mid-February and currently features stops in seven western-US cities. Details are included below.
More dates are expected soon.
"Nothing Is Sound" surfaced in September and features the hit single "Stars." The set follows the group's multi-platinum 2003 breakthrough album, "The Beautiful Letdown," which spawned the hits "Dare You to Move" and "Meant to Live."
Switchfoot recorded "Nothing is Sound" at various sites around the world, ranging from South Africa to singer/guitarist Jonathan Foreman's San Diego bedroom. John Fields, who turned the knobs for "The Beautiful Letdown," produced the "Nothing is Sound" sessions.
In October, the new album was gold certified, signifying US shipment of 500,000 copies.
